Economics Nuggets

| July 03, 2018

I took most of June off from blogging while we relocated our office.  Whew.  I’m glad we don’t do that very often!  Actually, the move was a great success – our phones were only down for an hour or so.

Today I would like to catch up with some recent posts on my favorite economics blog – Carpe Diem.  The first is a quote from a great national commentator – Charles Krauthammer, who passed away June 21, 2018.  Link: Quotation of the day on American exceptionalism….

Next is a post on June 29 marking the 217th anniversary of the birth of the great French economist, Frederic Bastiat.  Link: Happy 217th Birthday to French classical liberal economist Frederic Bastiat!

And finally, here is a post to mark the 88th birthday of the great American economist, Thomas Sowell.  Link: Happy 88th birthday (June 30) to Thomas Sowell, one of the greatest living economists.

I hope the comments contained in these posts from these great thinkers will provide some clarity and help you effectively sort through the constant drumbeat of “noise” with which we are bombarded.

Until next time, cheers!

Jim
